Breath, Belief & Breakthroughs – A Powerful Sunday with the Swim England North East Para Squad

On Sunday, 13th April, I had the absolute privilege of delivering a Breathwork workshop at the Swim England North East Para Training Camp—an inspiring space filled with talent, determination, and heart.

Working with these young athletes was nothing short of incredible. Their openness to explore how Breathwork can support not just performance, but also mindset, focus, recovery, and emotional regulation, was so encouraging to witness. There’s something truly powerful about athletes who are willing to go deeper—not just into their training but into themselves.

A real highlight of the weekend was meeting Chris Cook, Double Olympian and Commonwealth Champion, who was also there as a guest speaker. Chris shared his journey with passion, honesty, and humour, and reminded us all that the real gains in sport—and in life—come when we lean into belief, trust, and the power of simplicity.

After the session, Chris shared some incredibly kind words about the Breathwork workshops:

To receive such a testimonial from someone who has stood on the biggest stages in the world of swimming is deeply meaningful. It reinforces what I already believe to be true: that when we reconnect to our breath, we reconnect to our power.

Thank you to everyone at the training camp for your energy, enthusiasm, and curiosity. And thank you, Chris, for your wisdom and your openness to this work—it was a joy to connect.

Here’s to breathing with intention, moving with purpose, and unlocking our limitless potential—one breath at a time.

Here is what Swim Englan North East had to say.
